Karen Herzog, age 76, of Howards Grove was called to her heavenly home on Friday, May 13,
2022.
She was born in Millersville on January 7, 1946, to the parents Arwin and Eleanora (Oetling)
Herzog Sr. Karen graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1964. She worked as a
waitress for several years at both Log Cabin and Charcoal Inn. Karen worked at Kohler
Company from 1965 until her retirement in 2008. She was a member of the Kohler Quarter
Century Club and the BBB’s of Howards Grove.
Karen was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church all her life, where she was
baptized and confirmed.
Although Karen never had children of her own, she was an influential part of numerous nieces
and nephews lives who viewed her as a mother figure.
She is survived by one sister Shirley Reinemann; three brothers, Arwin (Marilyn) Herzog,
Eugene (Dorothy) Herzog and Donald (Lois) Herzog; one brother-in-law Pete Prange and two
sisters-in-law Mary Herzog and Sharon Herzog; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Along with her parents, Karen was preceded in death by three sisters, Elaine (Merlin)
Rautmann, Marion Prange and Jane (Jeanold) Schmidt and two brothers Robert Herzog and Carl
Herzog and a brother-in-law Donald Reinemann.
A Memorial Service for Karen will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's
Evangelical Lutheran Church, 441 Millersville Avenue in Howards Grove with Rev. Aaron
Mueller officiating. The family will greet visitors on Friday at the church from 9:00 AM until the
time of the service. For those who would like to attend Karen’s service virtually can do so on
her obituary page on the funeral home website. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in Karen’s name.
