Governor Tony Evers has signed the documents required to launch the reconstruction of State Highway 28 between County Highway A on the east and Highway 57 to the west on Tuesday, July 7th. The work will take until late October to finish, and will require several crucial detours along the way.
The $5.3 million project covers 8.9 miles of the route and will replace a deteriorated culvert near Waldo, the milling and replacement of the 4” asphalt pavement along the entirety, widening the shoulders from 3 to 5 feet, replace the curb and gutter of the Highway 32 roundabout, along with guard rail replacement and application of centerline and shoulder rumble strips.
Two-way traffic will be maintained where possible, but detours will be required around the culvert replacement and the Highway 32 roundabout reconstruction.
