Adjustments, awaiting detail, have been made by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health to the data concerning deaths due to COVID-19 as displayed on the Coronavirus Case Dashboard.
On Monday, it had been reported that among a total of 237 deaths, the first two in the 0-9 and 20-29 age groups had been recorded, and another added to the 10-19 category along with one each in those 50-59 and 70-79. Revisions on Tuesday showed none in the 0-9 or 20-29 demographics, while two were added since Friday to the 70-79 age group. We have contacted the County DPH for more information on these revisions.
24 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were noted in Tuesday’s update, bringing the total count to 28,728. 3,527 of those are active, 58 less than on Monday, as there were 80 recoveries.
1,148 persons have needed hospitalization at some time during the pandemic, with 24 of those now in care, a drop of 3 patients compared with Monday.
The level of community transmission in Sheboygan County remains “high”, with a case rate of 427.43 new cases per 100,000 population in the last 7 days, a drop of 87.57 compared with Monday’s reading. 18.25% of tests came back positive, a drop of 2.62% in the last day.
62.1% of county residents, or 71,579 persons, have received at least one dose of vaccine, an increase of 17 in the last day. 47 more persons received their final dose of vaccine, bringing that total to 67,977, or 59.0% of the population.
