While the boards that manage them have not mandated masks in any school districts in Sheboygan County, the administrators of the schools are keeping a watchful eye on the incidence of COVID-19 early in the new school year.
The School District of Random Lake on Wednesday sent a letter to parents and caregivers to inform them that students at Random Lake High may have had a low-risk exposure to COVID-19 on Tuesday the 7th. The letter stressed that this was simply a proactive step to alert parents to watch for any symptoms their children may exhibit.
Meanwhile, Plymouth Schools also report one person at Plymouth High School was infectious while there on September 1st, and families in that district are being asked to be vigilant for symptoms of illness.
Parents in the Sheboygan Falls district are given a dashboard to monitor COVID-19 in their schools, and as of August 30th it noted 12 cases in the district, six students at the high school, four at the elementary school, along with two staff members.
All county districts are encouraging, but not requiring masks in the classroom, but federal law requires everyone to be masked up when they take the bus.
