Elaine I. Krebsbach, 75 of the town Mitchell passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 with
her loving family beside her.
Elaine was born on August 21, 1945 in Plymouth a daughter to the late Norbert and Nevina (Wittkopp)
Kapellen. She attended St. John Lutheran School and graduated from Plymouth High School with the
class of 1963. She worked as a nurses aide at Rocky Knoll until her marriage to Kenneth Krebsbach on
November 26, 1966 at St. John Lutheran Church. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Elaine’s greatest
joy was her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The time spent with them and doing things
with and for them meant so much to her. She also liked to read and spend time working in her flower
gardens and getting together with their camping friends.
Elaine was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Kenneth; two children, a son John (Jacqueline) Krebsbach of the town
of Mitchell and a daughter, Rosemary (Steven Pennings) Krebsbach of Howards Grove; two
grandchildren, Ryan Krebsbach and Katelyn Krebsbach; two step grandchildren, Dave Pennings (friend
Lisa) and Sarah Pennings; two step great grandchildren and their children, Chad (Ellen) Pennings and
Kayla Pennings (special friend, Brandon); a sister, Jean (Dean) Leicht of Plymouth; a brother, James
(Becky) Kapellen of Edgerton; her brothers-in-law, Joseph Krebsbach and Ronald (Kelli) Krebsbach, both
of the town of Mitchell and Gerald (Debi) Krebsbach of Plymouth and a sister-in-law, Karen (Steven)
Whitty of Eden. Nieces and nephews further survive. Elaine was preceded in death by her mother and
father, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alex and Estella Krebsbach, sister and brother-in-law Ruth and
Robert Wagner, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Philip Ragaisis; brother-in-law, Michael
Krebsbach sister-in-law, Shari Krebsbach; a niece Deb McDermott; a nephew, Gerald Gibson and a step
grandson, Daniel “Ernie” Pennings.
Following cremation a private family memorial service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev.
Nathan Meador officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.
Elaine’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community
Hospice, especially Angela and Sara Jabs, a nurse practitioner with Aurora.
Memorials in Elaine’s name may be given to St. John Lutheran Church and Sharon S. Richardson
Community Hospice.
