ST. LOUIS, MO (WHBL) – Mike Moustakas hit a three-run homer in a four-run first inning as the Milwaukee Brewers went on to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 5-3 in a game called by rain in the eighth inning.
Keston Hiura drove in two runs for Milwaukee. Adrian Houser got the win after giving up three runs over five-and-a-third innings. Junior Guerra was credited with the save as Milwaukee snapped a three-game skid.
Yadier Molina and Dexter Fowler drove in runs for St. Louis. Adam Wainwright gave up five runs over five innings to take the loss for the Cardinals, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
The Brewers have off on Thursday, then begin a six-game homestand Friday night with the first-of-three against the Diamondbacks. Milwaukee is three games out of the second NL wild card and three-and-a-half back in the NL Central.
