Scott Sands MacDonald, 68, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 10, 2025 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.
Scott was born July 16, 1956 in Sheboygan, the son of Larry and Darlene (Busk) MacDonald. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1975, where he played football, and with his friends, volunteered with special needs kids primarily at Camp Evergreen.
On September 1, 1979 he was united in marriage to Regina Muecke in Sheboygan. The couple celebrated 45 years together this past year.
For many years, Scott worked at R-Way Furniture where he worked as a loader, installer and a finisher. He later dedicated his time to being a gifted caregiver for his parents.
Scott was a member of First Congregational Church, UCC in Sheboygan. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing sheepshead, playing in a couple’s Dart ball league, hunting with his dad, fishing (especially driving his friend Bob Dumovich’s charter boat), gardening, grilling out, camping, bonfires, yardwork and listening to Bob Dylan. He was handy and could fix nearly anything; he enjoyed tinkering and working on cars with his grandson. He loved his family deeply, was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and brother and enjoyed traveling and making memories with his parents-in-law.
Scott is survived by his wife Regina, their son Jason (Cassandra) of Sheboygan and grandsons Elijiah and Isaiah. He is further survived by his sisters Joni MacDonald (Raye Kanzenbach), Janet (Mark) Koepsell and Lori (Steve) Martin; sister-in-law Lillian Pope; uncles Herbert and Gary Muecke; nieces Christy (Michael) Geschke, Kendel (Ryan) Foley, Laura (Chris) Verrips and Teresa Muecke; nephews Jacob (Lisa) Koepsell, Joel Pope and Adam Muecke; “brother” and cousin Todd (Regina) Bailey; longtime friends Paul Turner, Rick Byrum and Pat Hess; several foreign exchange siblings; many beloved relatives including 25 first cousins, and friends.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law Walter and Annelore Muecke, and friends Joe Selinski and Bob Dumovich.
A private family memorial service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A Celebration of his Life will be held later this summer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sheboygan Peace Park (www.sheboyganpeacepark.org).
The family would like to thank the Town of Sheboygan paramedics, staff of St. Nicholas Hospital, and the many doctors who assisted Scott during his life.
