Dorothy E. Bahr, aged 94, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, at Sharon Richardson Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls, WI surrounded by her family. Born in Sheboygan on December 6, 1930, to the late Otto and Helen (Biwan) Tresp, Dorothy was known for her loving, caring, and adventurous spirit. She left a lasting impact on those who knew her, enriching their lives with her kindness and her sense of humor.
Dorothy worked as a secretary at Wisconsin Telephone Company and the Sheboygan Area School District. She retired as a faculty typist and receptionist at the UW Sheboygan Campus in 1989. She was respected for her professionalism and dedication. On October 29, 1982, Dorothy was united in marriage to Richard A. Bahr. They celebrated 32 years of marriage until Dick’s passing in 2015. Together they traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. They belonged to horseshoe clubs, bowling leagues and played golf for many years. As devout members of Immaculate Conception Parish, Dorothy and Dick actively participated in their faith community.
Dorothy was a Girl Scout leader, member of Catholic Women’s Charities, and one of the Nine Nifty Neighbors. She enjoyed swimming and Pilates at the YMCA, attending cooking classes, and other activities at Uptown Social. Dorothy was an avid sports fan and loved the Brewers and Packers. Later in life she realized she was quite the Crafter. Mom loved her dark chocolate, her advice, “A piece of chocolate a day.” Most of all, she cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
