September has been designated as National Preparedness Month, an important time to remember that disasters can happen without warning, making preparedness key to getting through the unexpected. That point isn’t lost on the American Red Cross, which is charged with being prepared for just about anything, and that means keeping supplies of blood and blood products ready for hospitals and emergency workers. That’s where you can help them stay prepared whenever the situation demands by booking a spot to give blood or platelets online, on the phone, or through the Red Cross Blood Donor App.
Those donating now through October 18th will receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice. Additionally, those donating now through the end of the month at Red Cross blood donation centers can mention the word “pickleball” to a staff or volunteer at the site to score a custom Red Cross pickleball paddle and ball, while quantities last.
