Jeanette M. Dekarske, age 88 of Sheboygan went to be with her Lord on Thursday September 17, 2026. Jeanette was born March 16, 1938, in Sheboygan to the late Alvah and Dorothy (Felsinger) Strains. She was a 1956 graduate of Central High School. Jeanette was united in marriage to Owen “Kush” Dekarske on June 11, 1960, at St John’s United Church of Christ. She was employed at Kieffer Sign prior to Schultz-Sav-O for many years in the human resources department. Jeanette enjoyed bowling, camping, gardening, playing cards with the girls, sports, card making, wintering in Florida, Arizona and Texas and spending time with the grandkids.
Survivors include her loving husband Owen, son Mike (Nancy) Dekarske of Sheboygan, daughter Michelle “Shelly” Fischer (special friend Brian Sundby) of Plymouth, grandchildren Brian (Mary) Dekarske of Bayside, Craig (Cheyenne) Dekarske of Kaukauna, Jason (fiancé Zoe Kanavas) of Redondo Beach, CA, Tyler (Amanda Fischer) of Port Washington, Tiffany (Hayden) McCue of Whitehall, Montana, great grandchildren, Sydney and Halle Dekarske, Laura Mae and John Fischer, Henry McCue and Graham Dekarske, cousin and close friend Sharon Kudirko.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dennis Strains, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Harvey and Lorraine Dekarske.
Family and friends may gather at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 917 Mead Avenue, Sheboygan on Friday September 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor James Schulz will officiate. Burial to follow in the Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jeanette’s name.
