A barn and its contents, including an unknown number of chickens, were destroyed in an early Sunday morning fire according to the Sheboygan Sheriff’s Office.
The County Emergency Communications Center got the 911 call at 3:26 AM with the report of a barn with two attached silos on fire on County Road “NN” just north of the Village of Cascade. The barn contained hay, two tractors and an ATV which were destroyed, as well as an unknown number of chickens, only some of which escaped.
The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation. Nearly 20 agencies including fire departments from as far away as Glenbeulah, the Town of Sheboygan Falls and Silver Creek responded to help put out the blaze.
