Donald Hurlburt

Donald Wayne Hurlburt, age 96, of Plymouth, passed away surrounded by loving family on October 21,
2023.
He was born on March 23, 1927, in the Town of Ruby, WI, a son of the late Archie and Agnes (Miller)
Hurlburt. Donald graduated from high school in Cornell, WI.
He served in the United States Marine Corps. during World War II. Following his service, Donald went
on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from Ripon College and his Master’s Degree from St. Cloud State
Teachers College.
On June 22, 1963, he married Charlotte Mattison in Bruce, WI. She preceded him in death on October
26, 2009.
Donald was an active member at Salem UCC in Plymouth. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and especially
loved spending winters in South Carolina with his family.
Survivors include: Children: Matthew (Susan) Hurlburt of Seneca, SC, and Karen (John) Petta of
Lexington, SC; 9 Grandchildren: Spencer, Parker (Jessika), Daniel, Bradley, Kristen, Ashton, Carita,
Nicholas, and Dylan; Sisters-in-law: Hazel Fetting of Bruce, WI, and Kay Osiecki of West Salem, WI; As
well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by: His parents; Wife, Charlotte; Son, Gregory; Brothers: Lyle and Dale;
Sister, Juanita; Sisters-in-law, Ruby, Maxine, Janet, Beatrice; and Brothers-in-law: Tom, Ray, Gene,
Denny, Donald, and Manly.
A celebration of Donald’s life will be held on Saturday (October 28, 2023) at the Suchon Funeral Home in
Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 10am-12pm, with a service to follow at 12pm. Rev. James
Hoppert will officiate, and inurnment will be in Cornell, WI.
