Beverly Jean Wegner Lampe, 93, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls.
Beverly was born February 8, 1930, in the Village of Waldo in Sheboygan County. She was a daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel Pallnow Wegner, Sr. She attended St. Paul Lutheran School and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1947. She continued her education at the Sheboygan County Normal School, the U.W. Oshkosh, and Lakeland College. On June 16, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald A. Lampe at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. They were married for 59 years before Donald preceded her in death on April 20, 2011.
Beverly began her teaching career at the age of 19, teaching at the elementary level and serving as the reading coordinator at St. Paul’s Lutheran School for 33 years until her retirement in June of 1992. She loved nothing more than teaching her students the love of our Lord Jesus. After her retirement, she was a substitute teacher in the area Lutheran schools. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Church where she participated in the P.T.L., Human Care Ministries, the funeral committee, and was a present member of the XYZ club at the church. She had many friends whom she loved to have lunch with and enjoyed the many card game clubs she belonged to.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Lois Wegner, Sarasota, FL; nieces and a nephew, Kathy (David) Mohr, Jerry (Vicky) Messner, and Sandy (Gary) Halbach; and cousins, Sheila Watson and Ken Leufer.
Besides her parents and husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ethel; her son, James; her brother, Alfred Wegner, Jr.; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arthur and Vera Messner.
Funeral services for Beverly will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 13th & Lincoln Avenue, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials can be made in Beverly’s name to St. Paul’s Lutheran School or Sheboygan Lutheran High School Performing Arts Center.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Pine Haven Christian Home and the nurses and staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
