Your words could be written in stone to be seen by generations yet to come. That is, if you’re selected as one of the contributors to the City of Sheboygan’s second annual Sidewalk Poetry Program. It’s an exercise to get people’s witty, or winsome, or otherwise priceless poetry out of the mind and into the public eye.
The Mead Public Library sponsors the program, which will select up to three poems to be stamped onto public sidewalk squares slated for repair throughout the city. The program is open to those 16 or older who either reside in the city, or are a student attending school in Sheboygan. Submissions of original work, published or unpublished., can be made online or through a paper form available at the library. Submissions are limited to one poem per person per year and can be made now through January 2nd.
You can find all information here, or submit a poem here.
