Officers trying to arrest a man had their jobs made just a bit easier on Sunday, thanks to a “wardrobe malfunction” on the part of the perp’s pants.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said that a deputy had stopped a vehicle for suspended registration in the Village of Germantown at 8:30 Sunday evening when the driver, a 35-year-old Milwaukee man, provided false information and tried to switch seats with the front passenger. The deputy tried to detain the man for obstructing and he fled on foot…but didn’t get far after tripping over his pants. A struggle then ensued between the suspect, the deputy and a Germantown Police Officer, while the 19-year-old female passenger, also of Milwaukee, then decided joined in the altercation.
Both subjects were eventually taken into custody. The driver, having hit his head on the curb when he tripped, was checked out at a local hospital before joining his partner in jail on multiple charges. The driver also had a felony warrant that had been in the system for three years.
