Another round of Canadian wildfire smoke will likely make the air unhealthy for everyone at times from now through Monday morning.
An Air Quality Alert for the entire state was issued by the Wisconsin DNR to be in effect now through 6 a.m. Monday. Those experiencing heart or lung disease, older adults, along with children and teens are being advised to reduce exposure by choosing less strenuous activities or shortening the amount of time spent outdoors today and tomorrow.
Things may get more serious over the weekend, as the air could become unhealthy for everybody. The wildfire smoke and lots of sun will provide all the ingredients for ozone to join the mix keeping sensitive persons indoors entirely, while those with asthma should keep medications handy, and everyone else should consider taking it easy outside.
The good news for those of us along the lakeshore is that a lake breeze could keep conditions better than the rest of the state this weekend, and forecasts suggest we should all be breathing easier next week.
