Nathan Heitzman, the Sheboygan man charged with a felony for the death of Cordelia Kuether last month after a traffic crash, appeared in Sheboygan County court yesterday in a plea hearing. The 23 year old entered a not-guilty plea to a felony charge of knowingly operating a vehicle while suspended, causing a crash.
The incident happened at 21st and Saemann Avenue on April 12th. Police say that Heitzman, while driving his truck, blew the stop sign and struck a van, propelling it into a group of pedestrians. The van then hit and killed Kuether. Court documents say Heitzman told officers it was his fault, and admitted that he was driving while suspended. He’s facing 6 years in prison if he’s found guilty.
