The plan that will guide City policy for the next five years will be discussed, and likely approved, during a Committee of the Whole meeting on Wednesday evening.
The City of Sheboygan Strategic Plan for 2023 to 2028 was developed by the firm Baker Tilly after getting input from all department heads and elected officials, as well as from nine community focus groups. Those groups gave input on the concerns of small and large employers, neighborhoods, social services, tourism, housing, families and schools, community arts and culture, and a group identified as “Elevating Diverse Voices”.
The study outlined the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats faced by the City, and outlined what will be done to address those factors. It also updated the City’s Vision Statement to read: “Sheboygan embraces a diverse and inclusive community culture, continuously practicing innovative and visionary governance.”
The meeting to discuss the plan takes place at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Council Chambers at City Hall, and can also be viewed online via live stream, and you can preview the entire Strategic Plan document by following this link.
