A medical event may be a factor in the death of an 80-year-old Sheboygan area woman found Sunday afternoon in Lake Michigan. First responders were dispatched to Lake Michigan near the 200 block of Juniper Drive in Black River shortly before 5 PM yesterday where a woman was seen motionless in the water, floating toward shore. Town of Wilson First Responders immediately began CPR upon recovering the person, but attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Witnesses reported seeing the woman walking in the water some 45 minutes earlier, and officials suspect either a medical event or accidental drowning is responsible for her death.
