The Plymouth Arts Center will be celebrating that city’s Irish heritage when St. Patrick is celebrated this March. The event will actually be spread over the 3rd and 4th weekends when the PAC opens its doors as an Irish Coffee House. “A Wee Bit Irish”, as the event is called, is a fundraiser for the Plymouth Arts Center which serves as the hub for performing and visual arts in the Cheese City.
While German heritage still dominates Sheboygan County, Census data shows that 11% of Plymouth residents can claim Irish origins, so it’s a fitting place to enjoy the Irish ambiance while benefiting the local non-profit arts organization.
Celtic Folk is a sort of house band for the PAC, having formed there 10 years ago. Besides providing the music for the event, they’ll be joined on select days by the Schauer Irish Dance Troupe and bagpiper Bruce McFarlane.
Friday and Saturday shows are 7:30 events, while Sundays are 2:30 p.m. matinees. You can find out more at plymoutharts.org
