The City of Plymouth is poised to get a new Police Chief. Since 2007 the Plymouth Police Department has been led by Chief Jeffrey Tauscheck, but he retired in 2022, and in the interim the Department has been led by Deputy Chief Matthew Starker. Now, the City’s Police and Fire Commission is in the process of reviewing candidates for his successor, and they’re inviting the public to meet the field.
An open house reception will be held from 5 until 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in the assembly room at Plymouth City Hall at 128 Smith Street. The four candidates being reviewed are Christopher Hughes, Brodhead, Wisconsin’s Police Chief since 2015; Michael Meeusen, the current Elkhart Lake Police Chief; Kenneth Ruggles, a Commander with the Plainfield, Illinois Police Department, and Lieutenant Eric Voland of the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department.
