The Above and Beyond Children’s Museum has announced that it will be indefinitely closed after damage attributed to the extreme cold weather experienced over the weekend.
Operators of the museum said the damage occurred on Christmas day when water in the pipes and sprinkler system froze and burst the pipes. As a result, water and ice damage was incurred on all four floors.
At this time the extent of the damage is being assessed before it can be estimated when the facility can reopen. In its release, the staff said they will “clean up, and hopefully restore the basement and other areas of the museum that are damaged.”
