Christopher King Gotwald, 54, of Sheboygan, passed away, peacefully with his family by his side on
Monday, November 28, 2022, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 2, 1968
to David King and Marylou (Norton) Gotwald.
On June 26, 1993, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Gerend at St. Clement Catholic Church in
Sheboygan. Together they raised three sons Timothy King, David Gerend, and Luke Christopher.
Chris worked as an engineer for Pentair, which allowed him to travel the world. He even relocated his
family to Suzhou, China for a school year.
Chris had a strong faith. His attitude on life, death, and hope were centered around faith and family. He
was selfless and inspired all he knew by his character. Chris was an amazing father to his three sons.
When you look at his sons, you will see his many qualities in them including unconditional love,
compassion for others, and the need to serve.
Chris had a passion for learning. If he had an interest, he became an expert. Chris took his knowledge
mastered it and turned his passion into an art. He loved cooking, knife making, making fishing flies,
turning bowls, and gardening. Chris grew beautiful orchids and tomato plants. He was also known for
his famous homemade pepper sauces.
Chris is further survived by his parents David King and Marylou Gotwald, brother Greg (Lindsay)
Gotwald, sister Bethany (Mike) Barr, father-in-law Jake Gerend, brothers-in-law Michael (Julie) Gerend
and Jimmy (Sara) Gerend, sisters-in-law Ellen (Ted) Dryden and Sarah (Eric) Adler. He is further survived
by nieces, nephews, Samantha and Ann Gotwald, Evan and Brock Barr, Jacob, Joey, and Meghan Gerend,
Hanna, Jessica, and Eliza Dryden, Ben Adler, and Lilly and Sterling Jo Gerend. Chris was preceded in
death by his grandparents and mother-in-law Jo Gerend.
