Richard F. (Dick) Meurer of Glenbeaulah, WI, formerly of Elm Grove, passed away peacefully in his home
at the age of 88. Dick, son of the late Francis and Lorraine (nee Schaefer) Meurer, is cherished by sisters
Mildred Schoos, Jane (Tom) Green, and brother Robert W. Meurer. Dick was loved by his late wife of 43
years, Delphine Ann Kowalczyk, and will be missed by his six children: Therese Meurer, Margaret Haas,
Mike (Kim) Meurer, Dave (Andrea) Meurer, Tom (Patti) Meurer, and Laurie (Steve) Kalmer.
Dick was preceded in death by his son Tim, his sister Mary Ann, and his brother Francis (Mary Lou)
Meurer.
Dick graduated from Marquette University High School in 1953. Soon after, he owned and operated
Meurer Bakeries, Inc. with his dad and two brothers. Together, they modeled their business around
their famous hot ham and rolls and exceptional pastries. Dick loved his Green Bay Packers and was a
lifelong season ticket holder of the team. Dick also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with
his closest friends: the late Tony Stricker, Ken Tushaus, and Glenn and Mark Langer. Although he won
several blue ribbons at county fairs for his dahlias, Dick’s greatest passion was baking. He was a member
of the Dirty Dozen Baker’s Club, Wisconsin Baker’s Fishing & Fun (F&F) Club, and Wisconsin Bakers’
Association.
Dick is survived by his 16 grandchildren, Scott Rosenberg, Nick (PaPhouala) Meurer, Andrew Meurer,
Natalie (Sam) Whealon, Jenna Meurer, Joe (Kate) Meurer, Emily Haas, Jack (Lauren) Meurer, Elaina
(Zach) Jindra, Grace (Michael) van Meurer, Brian Haas, Madeline Kalmer, Molly Kalmer, Ellie Meurer,
Henry Meurer, Mark Kalmer, and two great grandchildren, George and Blake Meurer. Along with his
immediate family, he is survived by his wife Carol (Fellie-Radmann), five step-children, 12 step-
grandchildren, and 19 step-great grandchildren.
