David G. Kortman, age 56, of Sheboygan, died peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022, with his fiancée Dawn at his side. He was born in Sheboygan on August 30, 1966, the son of Raymond J. Kortman and Connie Ward.
He attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1984. David then furthered his education at UW-Sheboygan. He was employed at William Industries in Cedar Grove for over 35 years as a Safety Program Manager/Industrial Engineer. David also worked at St. Vincent DePaul in Sheboygan in the intake department for 20 years.
David was a World War II history enthusiast, and he enjoyed reading many books about the war. David was also an avid collector of antiques and he liked to go to flea markets as well. He was a kind, thoughtful, loving person.
Survivors include his fiancée, Dawn Oonk; mother, Connie Ward; and his six brothers and sisters, Gerald (Jannette) Kortman, Debbie Ward, Lorna (Dan) Moore, Steven (Wendy) Kortman, Alice Hiar (Craig), and Terry Kortman (Illa). Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends further survive David. He was preceded in death by his father, and his brother, Raymond.
A funeral service for David will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan, with Rev. Jeremy Hylan officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery on Monday, (Nov. 28) at 10:00 a.m.
