Donald Jay Koball, age 79, of Kohler, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, October, 2, 2022,
at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility in Plymouth.
He was born in Sheboygan on February 14, 1943, a son of the late Wesley A. and Anna (Fjeldstad) Koball.
He graduated from Kohler High School in 1961 and served in the Army Reserves from 1962-1968.
On July 8, 1967, he married Judith “Judy” Zimmerman at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. They
were blessed with two children, Mary Kaye and David.
In his 43 years at the Kohler Company, Don worked in the wood pattern shop, enamel shop, and
maintenance dept.
Donald was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially deer hunting with his family in
Crivitz and on family land in Siren. He was a member of the Koenig Conservation Club, he was an avid
trap shooter on several teams, and loved sharing his knowledge of hunting while teaching Hunter Safety
for 25 years.
He also served as a Lieutenant on the Kohler Volunteer Fire Dept for 15 years, and was actively involved
at his church, St. Mark Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
Survivors include: His loving wife of 55 years: Judy; Children: Mary Kaye (Chris) Nimmer of Appleton and
David Koball of Elkhart Lake; Grandchildren: Kyle and Andy Nimmer; Sister-in-law: Yvonne Koball; Nieces
and Nephews: Kathy (Paul) Beilstein, Terry (Pam) Zimmerman, Wayne (Kathie) Koball, Michelle (Scott)
Kasmiske, Carol (Jeff) Friedrich, Linda (David) Shihata, Tom (Marcia) Struckmeyer, Jay (Tammy)
Struckmeyer, Susie (John) Mulheron, James (Marilyn) Struckmeyer, and Lisa (Alan) Kromanaker.
He was preceded in death by: His parents; Parents-in-law: Ted and Norma (Heerman) Zimmerman; Aunt:
Ruth Koball; Brother: Wesley W. Koball; Brothers-in-law: Thomas Zimmerman and Frederick “Fritz”
Mueller; and Sister-in-law: Doris Mueller.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday (October 7, 2022) at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1019 N. 7 th St.
Sheboygan, WI 53081. Visitation will take place from 10:00AM-12:00PM, with a service to follow at
12:00 Noon. Rev. Tyler Werner will officiate and burial will be in the Kohler Woodland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Donald’s name.
