Nancy Meissner Spalinger, 90, of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, went to be with her Lord on
September 15th, 2022. She was born February 5th, 1932 and was the daughter of Arthur and
Lillian Meissner.
She attended schools in Sheboygan and graduated from North High School in 1950. Nancy was
united in marriage to Jerome Spalinger and was blessed to have four children. Nancy was a
homemaker, and enjoyed volunteering with the Red Cross, RCS, Meals on Wheels, Sheboygan
Theater/Community Players, PTA, and participating in the church choir. She also enjoyed
traveling, camping, vacationing, and wintering in Florida, playing card games with family and
friends; and, loved socializing! Most important to her was spending time with loved one(s).
Nancy is survived by her son, David Spalinger, daughter, Lilli Ann (Eric) Zufelt, son Mark
Spalinger, son Jamie (Mary Jo) Spalinger, grandchildren: Jayson Bartzen (Amber Davis), Amber
Bartzen (Ryan Lynch), Tyler (Britney) Spalinger, Drew Spalinger, and great grandchildren: Ellie
Spalinger and Landon Bartzen. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Spalinger,
brother, Warren Meissner, and her parents.
Nancy’s love of life was manifest in her resiliency to overcome significant health problems,
especially over the past 12 years. Despite her aches and pains, she was always “just fine.” Her
hugs, smile, and laughter will be greatly missed as will her phrases “love you to the moon and
back” and the constant reminder of “precious cargo” when transporting her loved ones.
Nancy’s family gives a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Songbird Pond for
their care and compassion over the past few years, and to the caregivers at Allay Hospice.
Those who wish to remember Nancy in a special way may make a gift in her memory to the
Sheboygan County Food Bank or the American Cancer Society. A celebration of Nancy’s life will
be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from
12:00 PM till time of service at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Ave,
Sheboygan.
