
Roy A. Kaestner, 86, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2022. Roy was
born July 22, 1936, to the late Harvey and Luella (Machut) Kaestner and raised on their farm in
Sheboygan Falls.
He graduated from Plymouth High School and went on to attend classes at LTC. Roy proudly served in
the National Guard for 6 years.
On May 4, 1957, he was united in marriage to Barbara Leibham. Together they raised five children:
Keith (Karen) Kaestner of Minneapolis, MN, Kevin (Kathy) Kaestner of Big Fork, MT, Karen (Randy) Ingels
of Howards Grove, Kathy (Ed) Gumbert of Green Bay, and Kurt (Lynn) Kaestner of Oak Creek.
Roy worked his entire career for Bemis Manufacturing (making “picture frames”) retiring on May 15,
1994, as the Production Control Manager. The Town of Sheboygan Volunteer Fire Department
appreciated his assistance for 51 years serving as the Secretary/Treasurer and Inspector for many of
those years. He was a faithful member of St. Dominic Catholic Church serving as an usher and a
member of the grounds crew. Roy enjoyed fishing and hunting at the cottage, traveling, and definitely
playing cards!
He is further survived by 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way, his brother Gene
(Kathleen) Kaestner of Howards Grove, in laws Ken (Sue) Leibham, of Sheboygan, and Lorraine
Schroeder of Libertyville, IL, his extended family Reinhard Palm of Elkhart Lake, Gladys Palm of
Sheboygan Falls, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by
his parents, sisters Phyllis Nohl and Jeanette Moioffer, in laws Leander Nohl and Phyllis Hendrikse, and
extended family Hans Palm and Joyce Palm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Dominic
Catholic Church, 2133 N. 22 nd St., Sheboygan, with Fr. Mark Brandel officiating. Entombment will take
place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday,
September 29, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Zimmer Westview Funeral & Cremation Care
Center, W2132 Garton Rd. Sheboygan, and again on Friday September 30, 2022, at the CHURCH from
10:00 AM until the time of mass.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department or Sharon S.
Richardson Community Hospice in Roy’s name.
