Minnie Della Dykstra, 88, of Hingham, left Pine Haven Christian Communities on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, to meet her Savior Jesus Christ face to face.
Minnie was born to Edward and Nellie (Brill) Kappers on January 17, 1934, in the Town of Wilson. She graduated in 1952 from Oostburg High School. On October 1, 1954, Minnie was united in marriage to Willard Dykstra in Oostburg. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Minnie was a longtime member of Hingham Church, knowing her hope was built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. In His service, she was an active member of the Mission Circle and taught Bible Class and Vacation Bible School. Minnie volunteered at the Pine Haven Corner Store for many years and served a term on the Pine Haven Auxiliary Board. She enjoyed friendships and activities with her Merry Matron Homemakers group, and she was a 4H project leader. Minnie enjoyed gardening, canning, and needlework, as well as time spent with family and friends. Through the years, she maintained a scrapbook of clippings and photos for each grandchild and embroidered towel sets for each. She will be remembered for her applesauce and chocolate chip cookies.
Minnie is survived by her daughter, Judy (David) Glaze; son-in-law, John (Priscilla) Leung; sons, Jeff (Kathy) Dykstra and Joel (Judy) Dykstra; ten grandchildren, Matthew (Jaclyn) and Michael (Katelyn) Glaze, Jessica (Hudson) Seneker and Jonathan Leung, Adam (Kari), Luke (Katie), R. Scot (Becki) Dykstra, and Anna (Jake) Boldt, Alex and Ben Dykstra; 20 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by brother, John (Charlotte) Kappers; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
