Mary Jane Buell passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at the age of 95 at Sunny
Ridge Nursing Home in Sheboygan.
She was born in Green Bay to Almond and Anna Neville. After attending Green Bay
West High School Mary Jane met Louis (Louie) Buell at Danceland after he returned
from WWII where he served as a Marine. They married in 1946. Louis Jr. and Ann
were born to them. Mary Jane was a stay-at-home mother until she began work as a lab
technician for the A&P Cheese Division in Plymouth where the family moved in 1958
when Louie’s position with the A & P Cheese Division was relocated from Green Bay.
She continued to work for the company after it was purchased by the Great Lakes
Cheese Co. In 1986 she lost her beloved Louie to illness. She learned to drive in her
fifties and put many miles on her car especially enjoying visits to Door County especially
Washington Island. She also took many organized trips by bus and plane and loved the
frequent shopping trips with Ann.
Mary Jane is survived by son Louis (Marilyn) Buell, Jr. and by daughter Ann (John)
Shrake. They will miss her dearly. Mary Jane adored her grandchildren Amy (Mark)
Pauli, Stephanie (Mike) Koplin, Paul Buell and Ashley (Shawn) Dulmes and great
grandchildren Gavin and Walker Koplin, Gabriel and Cecelia Pauli, Macey and Tyler
Buell and Louella Dulmes. They loved being with her and she with them. Mary Jane is
also survived by sister Gloria, step siblings Patricia Cropsey and Doug (Carolyn)
Janssen, half siblings, Bruce Neville and Kathy (Tom) George, special cousins Lois
Gunnlaugson and Jerry (David) Johnson and special friends Lois Penkwitz, Jan
Hueppchen, Marilyn Schwartz, Gail Hovey and Dewey and Mary Ann Schultz. She is
also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were husband Louie, parents, step mothers Rosemary and
Lucille, father-in-law Frederick Buell, mother-in-law Josephine Buell, sister Violet
LeMieux, brother Almond (Doty) Neville, brothers-in-law, Hollis and Clem Buell,
Robert Vandermoss, Lee LeMieux, Jim Cropsey, Robert Zeise, Jake Knapp and Russel
Servais and, sisters-in-law, Marvel Buell, Carol Servais, Violet Knapp, Audrey Buell and
Dorothy Buell as well as her dear cousin Janet Waage and Aunt Lu and Uncle Hannes
Hannesson.
Mary Jane requested that there be no funeral services. A burial with the immediate
family present will be scheduled.
