Hospitalizations for COVID-19 in Sheboygan County have reached a new pandemic high, with 41 patients now being treated in county hospitals. That’s up 10 from Friday, and with total patients increasing by only two, it’s implied that some of the 1,015 persons treated so far have had to be re-admitted for treatment.
The Southeast Region of the Wisconsin Hospital System, of which Sheboygan is a member, is now seeing ICU beds used at 96.7% of capacity, ,with 95% of all available hospital beds currently in use.
On Monday, 20,455 cases of COVID-19 had been recorded so far in the county, up 88 from Friday. 1,008 cases are active, down 134 from Friday’s tally. Deaths remain at 181, five of those added last week alone.
The level of community transmission in Sheboygan County is “High”, with 525.4 cases per 100,000 persons added in the last 7 days. 13.25% of tests returned positive results, up 0.15% from Friday.
69,156 County residents have received at least one dose of vaccine. That’s 60.0% of the population, and up 117 from Friday. 65,501, or 56.8%, are fully vaccinated, an increase of 109. 1,075 doses were administered in Sheboygan County last week.
