Martin Allen Johnson, age 79, of Glenbeulah, WI, passed away on November 9, 2021.
He was born on September 23, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI, a son of the late Henry L. and Irene E. (Wylie)
Johnson. He attended school in Milwaukee, graduating in January 1961 from Lincoln High School.
At the age of twelve, Martin first met the love of his life, Kathleen Ambacher, at the Cathedral Square
ice-skating rink in Milwaukee. As the time passed their love flourished and the two united in marriage on
August 12, 1961. Kathleen preceded him in death on November 3, 2020.
Martin worked at Pabst Brewery in Milwaukee for over 35 years before retiring in 1997.
He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, doing crossword puzzles, listening to old country music,
and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered for his annual
corn roasts and his welcoming nature to join him around the kitchen table.
Martin is survived by his five daughters, Karen Fischer (friend, Mel Brion) of Elkhart Lake, WI; Cheryl
(Evan) Timm of Plymouth, WI; Lynn (Kevin) Broaddus of Glenbeulah, WI; Paula Johnson of Hartford, WI;
Jacqueline (Kenneth) Schuh of Hartford, WI; and son, Martin (Rachel) Johnson of Oshkosh, WI. Fourteen
grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Nicole Wagner, Wesley Bottoff, Melissa Schuh, Alyson Kell, Lauren
Schuh, Caleb Broaddus, Alexandria Timm, Benjamin Broaddus, Matthew Timm, Claire Schuh, Jacob
Broaddus, Carson Johnson, and Sienna Johnson. Four great-grandchildren, Arianna Partnitzke, Tessa
Becker, Mason Bottoff, and Landon Freis.
Martin is also survived by two sisters, Alice (Frank) Pecoraro of Ramona, CA; and Larene Johnson of Fond
du Lac, WI. Four brothers-in-law, Alan (Katherine) Ambacher of Concord, CA; Thomas (Sharon)
Ambacher of Milwaukee, WI; Bruce (Sandra) Ambacher of Minocqua, WI; and Ervin Fitzke of Winter
Haven, FL.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen; parents, Henry and Irene Johnson; grandson, Austin
Kell; parents-in-law, Royal and Irene Ambacher; brothers, Earl Wood, Gaylord Wood; sisters, Luella
Mathes, Jeanette Fitzke; and son-in-law, Kenneth Fischer.
A private burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, WI.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you for the outstanding and personal care provided by
the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice with a special thank you to his aide, Sherry, and
nurse, John. Both treated him with dignity and respect, and he considered them to be his friends.
