The Wisconsin State Patrol is letting drivers know in advance where they’ll be watching from aircraft above select state highways in the coming days. They do that, they say, to encourage voluntary compliance with the law while improving safety on highways. From the air, it’s much easier to spot drivers who are speeding or acting aggressively, and pilots inform ground-based units who then make the traffic stop.
I-94 in Jackson County will be under observation the remainder of today, Thursday June 25th.
Wisconsin Highway 29 in Chippewa County will host the operations on Friday, June 26th.
On Saturday, June 27th Aerial Patrols will watch over I-39 in Portage County.
On Sunday, June 28th, I-41 in Outagamie County gets special attention.
