Eleanor Helen Dees, age 87, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Monday, November
15, 2021, at St. Nicholas Hospital.
She was born on November 13, 1934, at home on the family farm in the Town of Herman,
Sheboygan County, the youngest daughter of the late Arno and Anna (Wickesberg)
Wehrmann.
Eleanor attended Washington School, a one-room school, in the Village of Ada and
graduated from Kiel High School in 1952. In 1956, Eleanor graduated from Mission House
College, now Lakeland University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
On October 6, 1956, she married John R. Dees in the Town of Herman. For the first 6 years
of their marriage, the couple lived in Green Bay and later resided in Plymouth. John
preceded her in death on February 25, 2015.
Eleanor had a variety of jobs throughout her life including substitute teaching and her
favorite job, working as a library assistant at Plymouth Public Library.
She loved reading, books on Britain’s royal family and true crime being her favorites,
traveling, shopping, and visiting her grandcats, Alice and Gemma.
Survivors include her daughter Theresa Dees of Plymouth, brother-in-law Harmon
Gundersen, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, her brother, Frederick
Wehrmann, sisters, Marie Miller, Evelyn Gundersen, infant sister Ruth, brother-in-law,
Arnold Miller, and other relatives.
Eleanor was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Plymouth, for many years. It was
an important component in her life. If you wish to honor Eleanor’s memory and life,
memorials to Salem United Church of Christ in her name would be greatly appreciated.
A memorial service and celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held at a later date in the spring.

and the hospice nurses Becca and Karrah, for their care, concern and compassion for
Eleanor in her final hours.
Eleanor is now at home with her husband, brother, sisters, parents, and the angels. She is
rejoicing and at peace.
