The pace of change shown in the metrics gathered in Sheboygan County on the coronavirus pandemic is slow, with perhaps a gradual downward trend over the past few days and weeks. For the 4 reporting days so far this week, we’ve averaged 707 active cases per day. That figure was 718 the week previous, and 748 the week prior to that.
59 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19 and 65 recoveries from the disease were recorded since Wednesday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, lowering the active case count to 705, down from 711 Wednesday, and 753 on Tuesday. 16,919 cases in all have been recorded in Sheboygan County during the pandemic. 862 of those, or just over 5%, have required hospitalization. Currently, 18 of the 705 active cases are hospitalized, with two of those entering within the last day. One person was discharged since Wednesday.
Sheboygan County is maintaining a “high” level of community transmission, with a case rate of 326.86 per 100,000 population. An average of 12.14% of tests given over the last 7 days have been positive for COVID-19, continuing the daily increase of that figure seen each day so far this week.
Since Wednesday, 73 more persons received their first dose of vaccine, with 64,870 persons, or 56.2% so treated. On Thursday, the State DHS reported 62,117 Sheboygan County Residents, or 53.9% as fully vaccinated. If accurate, that represents a drop in the total reported on Wednesday and could be the result of a revised figure.
