John Carl Williams, age 77, of Sheboygan passed away Wednesday morning,
October 6, 2021 with his loving family by his side. John was born February 23,
1944 in Gladstone Michigan to the late Jack and Mary (Masterlark) Williams. He
was a 1962 graduate of South High School. Following high school, he was proud
to serve his country in the U.S. National Guard. John was employed as a truck
driver for Kohler Company for 42 years, retiring in 2006. He had logged over 2.5
million accident-free miles during his truck driving career. John was an avid
outdoorsman. John and Joan enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Beecher
Wisconsin over the last 25 years. He especially enjoyed his hunting time with his
two boys and grandson at the cabin. John also enjoyed trap shooting, winning 1st
place Class D in the Sheboygan County Trap Championships in 2018, he shot in
many trap leagues at Koenig’s and Sheboygan Falls Conservations Clubs. John
loved his time fishing on Lake Michigan when he had his boat “High Hopes”.
During that time he was a member of the Great Lakes Sport Fishing Club, along
with being a member of Smerke’s Conservation Club in his younger years. In
retirement John and Joan enjoyed two cruises, an Alaskan cruise and a Hawaiian
cruise. John was also honored to attend his granddaughter's wedding in Mexico. In
John’s retirement he became the selfless caregiver to his loving wife Joan. John
enjoyed the game of cribbage; he and Joan started each day by playing a game or
two.
John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan, two sons Scott and (Kim) Williams
and Brian (Kelly) Williams both of Sheboygan, five grandchildren Katie (Ken)
Sharpe of Sheboygan, Jacob (girlfriend Alissa Kitowski) Williams of Plover, Kristi
Williams (fiancé Tyler Seidl) of Green Bay, Heidi (Ryan) Krueger of Kiel, Mikki
Williams of Cambria, WI, great-grandchildren Jack and Piper Sharpe, Avril
Zupke-Claudon, Stormy and Meeka Krueger, brothers Timothy (Sue) Williams of
Sun City, AZ, and Lee and Larry Williams both of Sheboygan. Nieces Rebecca
Williams, Maddie Williams, Barbara (Peter) Kramer, nephews Terry Williams,
Mark (LuAnn) Ziegler and Michael Ziegler, niece-in-law Teresa Huerta-Williams.
John also leaves behind his four-legged sidekick Maggie Mae who was always by
his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Mary Williams, mother-in-law
Katherine Harriot, father-in-law Raymond “Scotty” Harriot, sister-in-law Joyce
Ziegler, brother-in-law William “Bill” Ziegler, sister-in-law Michelle (Mitch)
Williams and two nephews Trevor and Tanner Williams.
Family and friends may gather at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12 th
Street, Sheboygan on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until the time
of service at 5:00 p.m. Military Honors will follow the service and will be
accorded by VFW Post #9156.
