
Theodore W. “Teddy” Schoen, Jr, 80, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday morning, September 26, 2021 at the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Born July 3, 1941 in Sheboygan, Teddy was a son of the late Theodore and Helen Ertel Schoen. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Central High School in 1959. On May 24, 1974, he was united in marriage to Colleen E. Fessler at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Teddy was a machinist at the Kohler Co. for 43 years before his retirement in 2007 where he was a member of the UAW Local 833. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. He was also a member of Koenig’s Conservation Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trap shooting and was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed hunting at the cabin in Florence with his brothers, James and John, and other friends and family since the 1950’s. He was also an amateur taxidermist for family and friends. But his favorite times were spent with his grandchildren. He rarely missed a practice, game or event. Grandpa was their best friend and partner in crime.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Colleen, Sheboygan; his children, Tammi (Andrew) Perman, Sheboygan, and Mike (Nathan Waller) Schoen, Chicago, his grandson, Carter Perman, and a granddaughter, Ellianna Perman; his brothers, James (Barbara) and John Schoen, Sheboygan; his sister, Maria Kanzelberger, Sheboygan Falls; sisters-in-law, Carol Kuether, Santa Barbara, CA, Patti Drews and Janice Crane, both of Sheboygan, and Dianne Fessler, Ft. Meyer, FL; his brother-in-law, Dr. Richard (Carol) Fessler, Lake Forest, IL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Eldred and Grace Fessler, his sister, Jeanne Schoen, and brothers-in-law, Robert Kanzelberger, Kenneth Kuether, Lanny Drews, Douglas Crane, Eldred Anthony “Tony” Fessler and Michael Fessler.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. To honor Teddy, please wear jeans, flannel and hunting gear.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the ICU at Aurora Memorial Medical Center for all of their loving care and support.
