A retired Lakeshore Technical College graduate is giving back to his alma mater in a big way, hoping that his gift will enable others to someday pay it forward as well.
Two Rivers resident and retired U.S. Army reserve 1st Sergeant Jesse Klein has pledged $100,000 to the LTC Foundation, launching the Jesse L. Klein Memorial Scholarship. The first award it funded was given to a student attending LTC this fall semester, and scholarships will be awarded each semester to follow.
In making his pledge, Klein said that “Knowledge is power, and it will take you places you can never imagine.” He told students that, “With enough hard work, you too will be able to pay it forward someday.”
Klein earned associate degrees at LTC in IT-Network Specialist and IT-Computer Support Specialist in 2014 after completing deployments overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He retired from the military in 2016 after serving 33 years.
