Sheboygan’s drawbridge over the Sheboygan River has undergone repairs.
City Hall confirmed that the 8th Street Bridge is now operating as normal for boat traffic after a scheduled repair was first performed earlier last week. Then, last Friday city staff reported that the lifting mechanism of the bridge had failed and would be unable to accommodate larger craft until the bridge was serviced again. City officials, the US Coast Guard, Sheboygan Police and Fire Departments along with the Parks, Marina and Forestry Commission were informed of the failure.
An outside vendor was called in on Monday and the bridge was restored to full operational mode.
