MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – A pair of Milwaukee aldermen are blaming Kia and Hyundai for having cars that are too easy to steal.
Alderman Khalif Rainey and Alderwoman Milele Coggs wrote letters to the two companies on Wednesday, saying that 66-percent of stolen cars in Milwaukee are either Kias or Hyundais. The aldermen say local owners of the cars are ‘under siege.’
They want to know what Kia and Hyundai plan to do about the spike in car thefts. Both companies say they are looking into Milwaukee’s car theft numbers, and what they have to do with their cars.
