A 25-year-old Manitowoc Man has died from injuries he received when his vehicle left the roadway on Sunday evening on a rural Town of Newton road. The as-yet unidentified victim was discovered at around 5:30 PM Sunday when a Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office deputy came across the crash that had recently occurred at the intersection of State Highway 42 and Manitowoc County Road C in the Township of Newton.
A preliminary investigation determined that the victim was eastbound on County Road C when his Chevrolet Malibu left the roadway, entered the ditch, overturned and came to rest in the intersection. The operator was ejected from his vehicle during the crash. The 25-year-old Manitowoc man was the only occupant, and was pronounced deceased at the scene despite lifesaving efforts by emergency responders.
As the accident remains under investigation and next-of-kin are being contacted, the victim’s identity was not immediately released.
