For the first time since the end of June 2020, there were no patients in Sheboygan County hospitals being treated for COVID-19. Hospitalizations in the county reached a peak on November 2nd last year with 37 patients of record.
With three recoveries and six new positive test results received by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health since Friday, the Sheboygan County confirmed case count so far rose to 13,855, 63 of them active.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services recorded 260 new cases since Friday, with the State total case count now at 611,000. The Wisconsin Hospitals Association reports a COVID statewide patient population of 170, 8 more than on Friday, with 60 in ICU beds. 368 ventilators are in use statewide.
Sheboygan County vaccination numbers are lagging the statewide statistics. Whereas 48.5% of state residents have received at least one shot of vaccine, 46.8% of Sheboygan County’s population has been so treated. That amounts to 54,004 persons. 41.7%, or 48,154 county residents, are fully vaccinated. That compares with 43% of the state overall.
