SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Two more deaths associated with COVID-19 were noted in Thursday’s daily report from the Sheboygan County Division of Pubic Health. The two – both ages 80 or older – added to the county death toll that has now reached 111. Of the deaths so far, one was between 10 and 19 years old, two were in their 30s, four in their 40s, five in their 50s, twenty were in their 60s, twenty-five in their 70s, and fifty-four were 80 or older.
18 of 109 tests returned in the last 24 hours were positive for COVID-19 for a 16.5% positive return rate, and 12,251 persons have now contracted the coronavirus in Sheboygan County. With 51 recoveries, the active case total dropped by 35 to 646, the lowest since 567 were logged on October 15th. Hospitalizations were stable at 8.
Sheboygan County’s two-week rates and trajectories were updated, and indicate a “Very High” activity level with a case burden of 544.9 per 100,00 population. The two-week trajectory displayed a 27% decline.
Of the 9,687 test returns received on a statewide basis, 2,177 were positive for COVID-19, making for a 25% positive rate. 45 more deaths since Wednesday raised the death toll to 5,607, and another 82 persons required hospitalization for treatment of their symptoms. After accounting for deaths and discharges, 808 patients were being treated for COVID-19, a reduction of 26 from Wednesday. 173 of those are in the ICU. Another 57 patients suspect COVID-19, but still need confirmation by testing, and 466 patients in all require ventilators at this time.
Thursday’s Facility-Wide Investigations report from the County DPH showed 47 active investigations. 10 of those were at long-term care facilities, 3 were at group housing facilities, 2 healthcare locations hosted active investigations, 18 workplace investigations were underway, and 14 educational facilities were undergoing observation by the County Division of Public Health.
Of the 10 long-term care facilities on the list, the 7 that were identified were:

- Pine Haven-Haven Drive Campus
- Progressive
- Rocky Knoll Health Care Center
- Sheboygan Health Services
- Sheboygan Senior Community
Eleven of the 14 educational facilities under investigation were identified as:
- Howards Grove High
- Kohler High
- Northview Elementary
- Oostburg Elementary
- Oostburg High
- Oostburg Middle
- Plymouth Riverview Middle
- Sheboygan Falls Elementary
- Sheboygan Falls Middle
- Sheboygan Falls High
- Sheboygan North Highschool
