Roma H. Roethel, 95, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020,
at the Shores of Sheboygan where she has resided for the last four and a half years.
Roma was born on October 15, 1925 to Louis and Emma (Dickman) Boeldt. She
married Willard Roethel on June 24, 1944. They were married for 41 years before
Willard passed away on August 30, 1985. She attended Holden grade school as well as
several other country schools.
Over her lifetime, Roma worked at Richardson Brothers, Bemis Manufacturing, and
most recently she worked for Curt Joa in Sheboygan Falls. In addition to these jobs,
Roma also baked the desserts for the Cauldron Restaurant.
Roma enjoyed playing sheepshead, playing darts, day trips to Oneida, crafts and
ceramics, and crocheting doilies and afghans. She took pride in her cooking and baking
skills, and would always have fresh cookies in the cookie jar and candy in the candy
dish.
Roma was a member of Grace UCC for many years. She also was a long-time
volunteer for the Red Cross.
Roma is survived by her daughters, Nancy Christian and Betty (George) Lorenz;
grandchildren, Sheryl (Gregg) Schuessler, David (Trina) Christian, Nicholas (Diane)

great-grandchildren, Jacob Lorenz, Valerie Schuessler, Colton and Braeden
Ziegelbauer, Adaline Christian, and Ellie Lorenz; and great-great-grandchild, Onyx
Lorenz. She is also survived by her sisters, Clarice Rohde and Joyce Loessl; special
nieces and nephew, Jane, Judy, and Ron; and many other nieces and nephews.
Roma was preceded in death by her husband, Willard; son, Gerald (Sonja); son-in-law,
Ordell “Ozzie” Christian; brothers, Lester (Rebecca) Boeldt; Raywald Boeldt, Louis
Boeldt Jr.; sisters, Norma (Elmer) Schmidt and Mabel (Norbert) Sommer; and brother-
in-law, Gerhard (Dorothy) Roethel.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life
will be held at a later date when it is safer to do so.
The family would like to thank the Shores of Sheboygan for the wonderful care and
compassion they showed to Roma. A very special thank you is also extended by the
family to Dr. Kuttickat for helping Roma stay healthy through the end of her life.
