(WHBL) – The Plymouth School District, like most, is dealing with COVID-19, but unlike several other districts including Sheboygan, hasn’t had to close any schools or adjust schedules as a result – yet. But with 33 Sheboygan County Schools undergoing facility-wide investigations through the County Division of Pubic Health, it’s clear that the problem is growing.
The County DPH is doing contact tracing at Parkview Elementary School and Plymouth High School, and the district website indicates 6 positive cases and 65 quarantines of record for the week of October 5th.
Sheboygan Area District schools are going all-virtual starting next week after the number of COVID-19 cases among students and staff made in-person learning too difficult to achieve, and letters were also sent on Wednesday to parents of Jackson and Jefferson Elementary Schools of the presence of coronavirus in those buildings.
Random Lake announced closing of their schools last week. In a post by Superintendent Michael Trimberger on the district’s facebook page, he said that the decision was made after discovering that over 220 students and 10 staff had close contact with known positive cases.
