Sheboygan area students head back to class on September 1st, and as families begin back to school shopping, a new warning has been issued concerning online scams tied to fake discount offers.
Department of Ag, Trade and Consumer Protection Administrator Michelle Reinen says scammers often use social media ads to attract shoppers. “Online shoppers, they may be drawn to ads that promote huge discounts, but later discover that the posted ads were really there by scammers. And so we hope that consumers can work to recognize this to avoid those online back to school scams that are likely out there”
