BHP: No plans to evacuate offshore facilities due to tropical storm

HOUSTON (Reuters) – BHP said on Sunday it has no plans to evacuate offshore facilities in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico because of Tropical Storm Sally, which the U.S. National Hurricane Center said is weakening.

“At this point we are not planning to evacuate the facilities, but we will be keeping a close eye on the system throughout the day today,” said company spokeswoman Judy Dane.
