MADISON, Wi (WSAU) The Wisconsin Badgers dropped a 71-70 decision to Illinois on Wednesday night at the Kohl Center. It snapped a 15 game winning streak vs the Illini.
The Badgers had a lead in the second half but suffered a two minute scoring drought. Wisconsin pulled to within one point on a Kobe King three pointer with 22 seconds left. After a missed Illinois free throw, D’Mitrick Trice missed a game winner with three seconds remaining.
King led the Badgers with 21 points. Micah Potter had 13 points and nine rebounds.
Wisconsin, now 9-6, 2-2 in Big Ten, will travel to Penn State on Saturday afternoon.
