An organization of County providers has announced a new, free 4K program beginning in July. The Sheboygan County Childcare Coalition said on Monday that, thanks to funding from the state, the Get Kids Ready program will be available to children who are four years old by the 1st of September. Participants will receive a solid foundation for kindergarten in a nurturing environment that eliminates the challenges of bus rides or tricky transportation schedules. Qualified childcare educators will focus on academic, physical, social-emotional and self-help skills, while improving communication skills needed for growing and learning.
The Get Kids Ready program is available year-round, and the State of Wisconsin pays childcare educators for the time a child spends in the program, making that part of the day free for families.
