A busy holiday season combined with bouts of winter weather have combined to threaten Wisconsin blood supplies with shortages if donations don’t come through. The American Red Cross said that supplies of blood and platelets are at risk of shortages, and donors are being urged to make an appointment to donate as soon as possible. While all blood and platelets are in demand, the types that are especially needed now include types O, A negative and B negative.
The NFL is teaming up with the Red Cross for the seventh consecutive year by making a Super Bowl-60 package available to give away to one winner, consisting of round-trip airfare with three-night hotel accommodations, access to day-of in-stadium pregame activities, tickets to the official Super Bowl Experience, plus a $1,000 gift card for expenses. Everyone donating between now and January 25th will be entered, with details available at RedCrossBlood.org/SuperBowl
